Getting Started
Deployment and Initial Setup
How Expanse is deployed on your infrastructure and how data collection begins.
Expanse is deployed directly on your infrastructure and begins collecting telemetry shortly after installation.
The setup process is designed to be fast and minimally disruptive.
Deployment
Deployment typically happens during the first one to two days of the evaluation.
Key characteristics of the deployment:
- One‑click deployment on your infrastructure
- Passive telemetry collection begins after installation
- No changes required for cluster users
Cluster users can continue submitting and running workloads normally while Expanse observes system behavior.
What happens after deployment
Once deployed, Expanse begins building a picture of how your cluster actually operates. This includes patterns in job submissions, resource use, and operational behavior.
The system works out of the box, without requiring tuning or configuration changes during the observation period.
Custom environments
Clusters can vary widely. If your environment requires a bespoke setup, the Expanse team can assist during deployment.
After deployment, the observation phase begins automatically.
